No Man’s Sky is an action-adventure survival video game developed and published by the indie studio Hello Games for PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows. The game is scheduled to be released worldwide in August 2016.

No Man’s Sky’s gameplay is built on four pillars—exploration, survival, combat and trading—in which players are free to perform within the entirety of a procedurally generated deterministic open universe, which includes over 18 quintillion (1.8×1019) planets, many with their own set of flora and fauna. By exploring, players gain information about the planets that they can submit to the Atlas, a universal database that can be shared with other players of the game. Players get compensated in in-game currency every time new information is uploaded to The Atlas. Players also gain materials and blueprints to upgrade their character’s equipment and purchase a variety of starships, allowing them to travel deeper into the center of the galaxy, survive on planets with hostile environments, interact in friendly or hostile manners to computer-controlled space-faring factions, or trade with other ships. Some activities, such as killing too many lifeforms or draining too many resources from planets, will draw the attention of patrolling robotic Sentinels that will attempt to kill the player-character. Who followed the Atlas path and who didn’t?

John Thomas says:

i swear his streams are 20% game and 80% ” LYNX!”

Charlie K says:

This game can be quite awesome, but sometimes the sentinels and space pirates are a bit too much to the point of overreacting where one literally has no chance. It should be balanced more.

Samuel Foreman says:

This game has so much potential for cosmic horror. Just make it a little bit darker, get rid of the NPCs and replace them with recordings of the same aliens fleeing in terror. Just you in an emptied galaxy, with the question of where did everyone go, and clues pointing to the center.

Kevin Mably says:

Love your live stream and you are funny as hell. Rock on

Tyler Webb says:

Man……All this game is farming and upgrading…..I think sony pushed them for an early release. This game, just doesn’t feel ready, but I have hope for it. It just needs more content.

Not working

Scott Mantooth says:

to answer your question at 14:50 (ish) concerning types of systems and planets something found from a quick search:

I did not create this post, this was found by redditor Harvoification over at, and I am just bringing this information to you. All that is written below is by the reddit user Harvoification, not me.(dua)

“I never saw this explained in the tutorial, and it looks like not a lot of people even know about it, so I thought I’d explain it here.

Yellow Stars/Class G

These are the default star systems you can travel to from the start of the game. Mostly basic resources can be be found on the planets present within them, and a lot of the planets are barren.

Red Stars/Class K

You need a warp reactor sigma upgrade to travel to these stars. Planets will have slightly rarer resources on them, and more planets will be inhabited with fauna and flora.

Green Stars/Class E

You need warp reactor tau upgrade to have the ability to travel to these systems. They contain even rarer resources and even more planets will be tropical/lush.

Blue Stars/Class B

You need a warp reactor theta upgrade to travel to these systems. Planets will have a chance of having even the rarest resources on them, and a higher chance of being lush with plentiful plant and animal life.

EDIT 2: Okay, so it looks like there could be more than four. /u/saffron3d linked a page with all the spectral classes that could potentially be in the game (take note that classes listed on that page are based on stars in our universe, not in the games). So far confirmed classes are G, K, E, B, M, F, O.”
