Railway Empire Campaign – Let’s Play / Gameplay – Episode 1 (Tycoon Simulation Game 2018)

Railway Empire (Kalypso) is a new Railway Tycoon Simulation games for PC PS4 Xbox One. Release date 26th January 2018

Railway Empire, a new tycoon simulation game spanning 100 years of American industrialisation, where you will be tasked with building, managing and expanding your railway company utilising all the innovations of the steam engine revolution on Windows PC, Linux, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

In Railway Empire, you will create an elaborate and wide-ranging rail network, purchase over 40 different trains modelled in extraordinary detail, and buy or build railway stations, maintenance buildings, factories and tourist attractions to keep your travel network ahead of the competition. You’ll also need to hire and manage your workforce if you want to ensure an efficient train service, whilst also develop over 300 technologies ranging from mechanical improvements to the trains themselves to workplace infrastructures and advanced amenities as you progress through five eras of technological innovations.

However, you can’t just build and research your way to the top – the competition never sleeps, and to keep your business on track you’ll have to survive against up to three rival tycoons. To get to the top you may have to resort to more cutthroat tactics as you attack and sabotage your opponents through raids and industrial espionage.

Railway Empire is currently planned for a Q4 2017 release.

Bob Dilhorne says:

Hi Skye, you forgot to put service towers on the other lines, did you see the warning triangles lol

Captainmckurk says:

The idea is really cool. The UI is just a bit dissapointing, looks too arcady compared to the other graphics. And you lines are not shown on the minimap. And pause would be usefull. But you can clearly see a RRT fan has been part of developing this game.

three7s69 says:

Damn… 🙁 I was hoping something Sid Meyer’ish type of tycoon. Shame, what a waste of a good concept. Thumbs Down on the Game

Decentralized Podcasts says:

Skye that “mushroom cloud” was a tornado

Paul Rone-Clarke says:

I know this might seem strange but I don’t like playing with US trains. Much rather use UK trains. I’ve got no emotional connection with US vehicles and the locos seem so overly baroque.

Karen King says:

I absolutely loved this … more please, Skye 🙂

Wyoming Cowboy says:

That’s not a mushroom cloud… it’s a tornado. They’re quite common in the great plains.

jascharl says:

Doktor Logan says:

Toot-toot! 🙂

Merja Fröberg says:

Based on this first episode, this game looks like fun to watch (played by you), but personally I think that I won’t buy this game. I don’t know if it’s the campaign/tutorialish mode that makes me feel like that, so maybe if I’d see some sandbox play, I might change my mind.

David White says:

Ryan Sullivan says:

Love it

Aoderic says:

Skye, outside the English speaking world, most countries use period as a thousand separator and use comma for the decimal separator.
Gaming Minds Studios and Kalypso Media are German companies, and so they are used to it being this way, and would likely have forgotten, that a game taking place in America should use the opposite setup.
So the newspaper headline should be read as “over 1,104 miles long track” (in English).

Kevin Burkhard says:

Reminds me of Railroads. Probably will get this for purely nostalgia as it’s been too long since I’ve played that.
