SimCity 2000 ► 1995 City-builder (CD) – Download & Gameplay [Abandonware Adventures!]

Abandonware Adventures! – Full playlist:
Have you played SimCity 2000? The Windows 95 CD version of the urban city-builder game from 1995? My first city-builder! Suggest something else I should play. Download link and installation instructions below!

Abandonware Adventures is a format where I find a good old game that is no longer for sale and play some of it. These are often PC games from my childhood that have been abandoned and I think need to be looked at again.

Vote for this game on the GOG wishlist!

You can also buy and play the DOS version from GOG here

How to play SimCity 2000 CD Version
1. The files can be found here:

2. It needs to run on a 32-bit operating system, so either an older PC or on a virtual machine running an older operating system.

Widescreen will happen automatically.

I’m running the game on Windows XP inside Oracle VM VirtualBox.

My first SimCity! Always a classic but shame about the whole DOS/CD thing. And that old video about video game songs I’d never forget, it’s here:

2:45 – 16 Bit actually. Which is why a 32bit system can emulate it, but a 64bit one cannot. Microsoft decided to only emulate one step down on their systems respectively. 🙂

10:35 – Yeah the music will definitely sound different to most due to soundcard changes. I personally find the Dos/Windows utterly dreadful, since the Mac sounds are (imo) so much better. The music does loop, but also changes every year change – it gets annoying if you play on fast.

Great game! Always will be a timeless classic.

@ZoidbergForPresident (NOTE EDIT: I think you’ve turned off replying because I can’t reply to any of your comments anywhere) You pointed out ‘abandonware’ isn’t a legal term and questioned the legality of me putting SC2K as such. That link to the GOG sale page is in the description and I explain the issue in the video. I start the video on the topic actually. Edit: Also, the source I provided is, a recognised public library that preserves old software along with other things.
