About Ostriv:
Ostriv aims to raise the bar of city-building experience by adding a huge amount of possibilities and removing annoying limitations. It allows for truly organic town layouts without grid and angle restrictions on a three-dimensional landscape. The goal is to make player’s creations to become alive and believable communities where real-life problems would arise, thus making late game a new challenge rather than a repetitive chore.

You can watch the development of this masterpiece from afar on Facebook and Twitter or you can join by purchasing an alpha and help by providing your awesome (or, even better, awful) feedback!

The current alpha contains 26 basic buildings, 3 maps, advanced farming with crop rotation and ploughing, organic dirt roads modeling, dynamically changing seasons, basic trading by land and some other things you would expect from a city-building game.

A lot of things are yet to be done. Check out the current roadmap to see what’s planned to add before Ostriv would become a finished game.

Simon Knibbs says:

Looking good. Maybe workers can gain skills by working? So the thatch guy would slowly gain a small bonus to output? Then when you open the worker slot, it would check who was the most skilled worker and assign. Might be a bit messy..

Razors Edge says:

Fantastic JOB!! Yevheniy is just amazing!! Great video

ChoCoRiRii says:

Very nice video Katherine 🙂 A little thing I found out about the forestry : if you’ve had 2 guys working there for quite some time and they stored the maximum number of logs as in your case, and you fired them for harvesting cycle, you can add just 1 worker afterwards and he will be able to cut the logs into wood and firewood as they will already be stored in the forestry. 2 workers are necessary when there are no logs stored 🙂

goran stojanovic says:

KatherineOfSky keep it up from what i saw you are the far best at this game and esteticaly placing buildings i want this drug every day

It’ NUTRIENTS not nutriments 🙂

Puppy says:

I need more games like this, the relaxed, production , planing, building games. I just love to watch you play them, and talk about them.

James Tingley says:

If you watch the windmills carefully the workers in them actually push the pole at the back of the mill to turn them,They do not turn on there own.Regards James.

Клуб Вольных Разработчиков says:

Good game! But there are no islands in Ukraine 🙂

Pedro Rodriguez says:

Women: Carts are for sissies!

Graxster says:

Luis Jalabert says:

Kat marry me plz

606Jashugan says:

the whole time i was looking at your empty cart parking, watching your poor villagers walking miles down the street to get the carts from and to the camp. hint : transfer the carts…
memo to myself: watch video to the end before comment. :p

Daisii Hampton says:

Amazing episode!

1234gregor says:

lol.. I remember the arguements about crop rotations in Banished, so I know exactly where the idea of a farm manager came from. Also Like Banished I forsee endless fun arguing about maximising crop yields in this one too :). Looking forward to seeing how the game develops. Will be glued to this LP.

Jim Castor says:

Type in “Ostriv map” and it takes you to the Ukraine on the world map where Ostriv is.

Burylown says:

Damnit Katherine lol. Now another EA game you’re making me have to buy :p

Joseph Strizzi says:

Great series KoS!!

mun150 says:

Love the game! By the way, if you put the benches by the fences of the houses it will look like real life villages in Poland. It’s common to have a bench by the fence of the house, where people sit and just talk with the neighbours.
I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but there is a clay pot on the fence of one of the houses 😉

The Stick says:

Hang on, how exactly is it you’re pronouncing nutrients? To me it sounds like you’re saying “nutraments”… 20:04-ish for example.

Ebba Lytle says:

Great video! I haven’t watched you before, but really enjoyed the two videos in this series. Very informative and your voice is perfect for listening to. Glad I found you. 🙂
Just for information… the wheat is gathered in sheaves (bundles) and then the sheaves are put together into a stook, which is what you are seeing in the wheat fields at harvest.

Aldo Jr says:

I’m loving this series.

HrabCOrp Ua says:

Ostriv is *Made-in-Ukraine game* (which means it is a good game)! *Ostriv* means *island* in ukrainian language.

NobOfNoob says:

Jim Castor says:

You are going to put some carts by the farm, right. Doing great. It looks like there is more game coming out in the future since there is a list of things we can’t get yet. Looking good.
